New trading account has been transferred successfully.

May 22, 2006

The agonizing wait for me is over, my account has been funded and ready to trading. This month I transferred my account to Thinkorswim form OptionsXpress, it sound like yesterday move from Farr Financial to OX, but I feel glad to do this because I think personnally that TOS is better from OX (after my deep consideration). If I feel that OX is the best, than TOS will considered to be best of the best.

When they begun initiated the transfer they email me, and when the transfer done, they also informed me. This process took 8 work days. You know what, the best thing is they will rebate any fees my previous broker charges during this process.

Besides their very competitive fee rates, they have a very sophisticated java trading platform.
The information they presented is complete and very intuitive. I think I can master it in no time.

If you want to have all the advantages I mentioned above then I highly recommend thinkorswim as your options broker, most likely you won’t regret it.

I didn’t paid last month CC bill ?

May 20, 2006

Today I received my monthly credit card bill as usual, what make me shocked is the bill doubled from my regular payment. Later I found that it include last month bill but… how could this happen I always paid my dues on time.

My emotions tickling me to contact their Customer Service to make this problem straight. Before I do that, I checked my transactions via internet banking. There were said that I didn’t made CC payment transaction last month.

I starting to remember what I was doing last month… still what in my mind that I already paid that bill.
Since the facts said contrary and I don’t have proof to justify my opinion reluctantly I try to accept this as my fault. This mean I must pay the bill double and I don’t like it though.

Well… may be if you ever be in the situation like this, first try to collect the proofs to backup your opinion before you try to talk to their customer service. If you on the right side, you must fight your rights to the end.

What an unpleasant experience on my weekend.

My Acer Notebook quite perfect to me…

May 15, 2006

It’s been my pleasure to work with my notebook computer Acer Aspire 3608NWXCi. This notebook replaced my old Acer notebook travelmate 330. Since I bought this Aspire on 24 Dec 2005, it never disappointed me. I have more space when work with this wide screen 14.1 CrystalBrite TFT LCD, it’s kind of shinny LCD.
I uses this Acer more than 8 hours a day, I always take out the battery when I using it in the office, only when I’m out I put back the battery, that way will make my battery lifetime longer, and so far it’s fine.
Many friends of mine have a short battery lifetime when they’re using notebook without adaptor. They never take out the battery when using the notebook while charging in the long time. That’s why I always remove the battery out.

Well… its not a perfect machine ( who has the perfect machine anyway ?) I don’t like the sound of the speaker when I played music, I missed my serial, parallel , infra red. There are only 3 USB ports as replacement.

When I connect to the internet sometimes I use CDMA phone ( Nokia 6585), the connection speed fairly slow comparing to Nokia 6235. You better using nokia 6235 if you want to connect to the internet via CDMA phone.

Access Point didn’t work in repeater mode

May 11, 2006

Notice :
This posting contains error especially when I was said that “AP cannot be configured as an AP mode and as a repeater mode at the same time”. Please refer to this newer posting “WDS configuration on SMCWBR14-G, SMCWEBT-G, and SMC7904WBRA

This is not about options trading strategy or other online business, this is about IT, to be exact about wireless problem.
Yes I admitted it that until now my main source of income comes from IT business not from options trading, but someday (I hope it won’t be long) my primary business will be options trading.

One of my customers asked me to install the wireless LAN connection in their office. The office is located in the suburb of Bandung, it takes one hour from my office to get there. There are two main buildings made of steel, each building is about 500 meters acre. The buildings are almost adjacent only 5 meters away from each other. I suggested them to install one wireless router ( to anticipate ADSL internet connection) and one access point to cover the area. At first I configured the wireless device like this :
wireless1

Guess what ? This configuration didn’t work, although the wireless client had a strong signal from the AP, but it cannot go through to the server. The device’s manual didn’t help much aboout this problem, some mailing lists suggested this configuration :
wireless2

Indeed it worked well for that particular station but other wireless station could not connect to the server. That configuration didn’t solve my problem, and I kept on looking for the answer…
A friend through mailing list was facing the same problem and he came into a conclusion that the configuration should look like this :
wireless3

Yes that is the answer, and this makes sense to me.
The explanation behind this configuration is that AP cannot be configured as an AP mode and as a repeater mode at the same time.

However I didn’t implement this scenario to my customer, instead I pulled a wire between Wireless router and AP instead, and this also worked well, I gave them channel 6 and 11 to make sure it would not overlap when two AP have the same coverage. The configuration looks like this :
wireless4

Note :
At that time I used SMC for all wireless devices, and the coverage were excellent comparing to other brand as long as I remember.
